The mission of Hope Church is to build a community that loves Christ to reach a community that needs Christ.
Everything we do inside and outside of our walls is driven by this mission. It stems from a love a God and a love of people. This isn't some concept we thought up to stand out, it is simply what we see God state as his priorities for his people time and time again in scripture. Two specific examples of this would be sections of scripture that have come to be known as the Great Commandment and the Great Commission.
The Great Commandment is found in Matthew 22:37-40 and reads:
And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
The Great Commission is found in Matthew 28:19-20
Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Our hope is that focusing our energy through the filter of this mission allows the heartbeat of Hope Church to closely mirror the heartbeat of God himself.
