Student Ministry

Hope Students exists to draw students, grades 6-12, into deeper relationship with God, adults and each other. We grow together as disciples of Jesus equipped to go make disciples of Jesus.

We are a relaxed community that likes to hang out, goof off and grow together.  While we have various gatherings in our weekly and yearly rhythms, so many of the significant things we experience happen in the context of simply sharing life day in and day out.  We invite you to come get to know us a little better whether through one of our fun outings, retreats, or weekly YOUTH GROUP gatherings.  Feel free to reach out to Pastor Kurt with any questions you may have.

YOUTH GROUP (Sundays, 6:00-8:00 PM)
We play fun games, worship God with singing, experience engaging lessons from Scripture, and spend time in small groups caring for one another. We regularly meet in The Loft (upstairs @ Hope Church) during school months and in the homes of Hope Church members during Summers. We want our students to grow closer to each other, while also growing closer to believers of all ages as they learn how to share in the life of the local church.

Special events and fun outings for the whole Hope Church family are scheduled  throughout the year in lieu of our regular YOUTH GROUP gatherings. We pause YOUTH GROUP during Winter break weeks and parts of the Summer.

MISSIONS TRIPS AND RETREATS (Winters & Summers)
These trips are designed to provide students with fun, memorable and purposefully challenging experiences that encourage them forward in a maturing faith.  Trips typically take place over a 3-day weekend or an entire week.

Middle School trips focus on growing closer together as God's family. These experiences help us learn how the Gospel basics about relationship with God translates into fun and loving service to each other. High School trips maintain these foundations while providing more challenging opportunities to grow  as Kingdom-witnesses who go make disciples. These trips provide more intense opportunities to mature in theological rigor, cultural engagement, just service and evangelism.

We seek to make these trips as cost effective as possible; registrations and more information are communicated by email and posted here on Church Center.

LOCAL SERVICE OPPORTUNITIES
Pastor Kurt and our volunteer leaders periodically invite students to join us in acts of service. We also keep students informed about ongoing opportunities to serve our family at Hope Church and those with substantial needs in our area. Our goal is that students would see and imitate an example of service in their pastors and leaders.

Sometimes service projects are scheduled in place of our typical YOUTH GROUP gatherings. However, these are typically communicated spontaneously as needs and organized opportunities arise. Service is a sacrifice of one's time and effort to prioritize the needs of others, loving them generously as God first loved us in King Jesus.

PRAYER PALS
Students and senior saints are invited to pray for each other and write each other as pen pals. General prayer requests for our students are also distributed to our seniors who sign up to cover our students in prayer. Feel free to reach out to Pastor Kurt to learn more or join Prayer Pals.
